It is a cultivar of the Cotyledon orbiculata species and is highly prized for its chubby, round leaves that have a beautiful variegation pattern of green, cream, pink, red and purple. This plant is native to South Africa and can grow up to 15 cm tall

Cotyledon Orbiculata cv. Short Round Leaf Variegated is a beautiful and unique succulent plant, also known as Cotyledon Orbiculata cv Oophylla Variegata, and Cotyledon Orbiculata Fuku Musume Variegata. It is a cultivar of the Cotyledon orbiculata species and is highly prized for its chubby, round leaves that have a beautiful variegation pattern of green, cream, pink, red and purple.

This plant is native to South Africa and can grow up to 15 cm tall and 30 cm wide though they are very slow growing making them quite rare and in high demand. Its parentage is believed to be a natural mutation of the species and its rarity adds to its allure among plant collectors. Despite its delicate appearance, this plant is relatively easy to care for and can thrive in a variety of growing conditions.

On a scale of 1 to 10 for ease of growing and hardiness it is definitely one of the easier ones to look after and keep looking good. I would rate it an 8 out of 10. I'd say the biggest mistake people are likely to make with this plant is to underwater it, especially when the weather warms up they do like to be watered to stay looking really good. If not they will start to use up their beautiful variegated leaves which you don't want. Rule of thumb, if the bottom leaves are soft to the touch or wrinkled your plant needs hydration.

Full sun brings out the deepest colour in these beauties but be careful not to burn them. Great colour can also be obtained in partial shade which is what we give them from mid Spring to mid Autumn protecting them under 50% white shade cloth.
